Essential requirements: Experience of using bioinformatics tools.

Experience of working in Linux. Basic knowledge of computer network administration.

Desirable: Knowledge of Linux installation/administration and proficiency in either of the following:

Shell/PERL/Java/Python/VB/Oracle/MySQL/C/CUDA.

Qualification: PhD. or First class M.Sc degree in Bioinformatics or Biotechnology/life science with specialization in Bioinformatics.

Fellowships: Rs 22,000/- with HRA for PhD qualified, Rs 16000/- with HRA for NET/BET/BINC/GATE qualified and 12000/- with HRA for non NET qualified applicants.

Walk-in-interview will be held on October 5, 2013 at 10:00 A.M. at IASRI, New Delhi for a project “A New Distributed Computing Framework for Data Mining” funded by Department of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India for the following posts. Research Associate

Ph.D. in Bioinformatics/ Agricultural Statistics/ Statistics/ Computer Science/ Computer Application or equivalent or

Salary: £27,854 - £29,541, with progression to £36,298

You will perform cutting edge computational biology within the Faculty of Medical Sciences, with a particular focus on the Northern Institute for Cancer Research (NICR), and contribute to the delivery of Faculty wide programmes of training, analytical services and skill transfer between Faculty Institutes.

You will have a relevant first degree or equivalent qualifications and/or experience in a relevant scientific/technical role, together with previous specialist experience at a senior level in bioinformatics. A PhD is desirable.

This position is part of the Bioinformatics Support Unit but physically located for the majority of the time in the NICR buildings.
