<p>Applications are invited for the following 01 (one) post in Indo-US Science and Technology Forum sponsored project entitled "Indo-US Advanced Bioenergy Consortium: Second Generation Biofuels"</p>

<p>Post 1: Senior Research Fellow (Computational Biologist / Metabolic engineering)</p>

<p>Salary: Rs. 25, 000+30% HRA p.m.</p>

<p>Duration: The position is purely temporary for the duration of two years or coterminous with project</p>

<p>Age limit: The upper age limit for SRF shall be 32 years, which is relaxed upto 5 years in the case of candidates belonging to SC/ ST, Women, PH and OBC applicants.</p>

<p>Essential Qualifications: Masters/B Tech/M tech in Basic Sciences with at least 2yrs of research experience in Bioinformatics/Computational Biology related to Database /portal building &amp; maintenance, high throughput data handling and analysis. Selection preference will be given to candidates with a good knowledge of Python and/or R. Knowledge of JAVA will also get a special consideration.</p>

<p>Desired Skills: Atleast, one publication in the related area in a peer-reviewed journal. Will be expected to manage ongoing research activities in the project, interact with experimental group, manage the project data analysis, prepare file reports and associated project work etc. Familiarity with plant systems biology and genomics /metabolite resources related to plant metabolomics is desirable.</p>

<p>Position available Project Description: Several positions are available for the project titled: “A unified web-portal for analysis, integration and visualization of multi-omics data”. The goal of this project is to develop a user-accessible resource for integrated analysis and visualization of multi-OMICs data sets (including gene expression, genotype, methylation, microRNA, etc.). Data sets generated on various platforms shall be maintained in a stable database, accessed through standard querying mechanisms, and the results shall be displayed via user-friendly interface. The analysis engine shall run on open-source software (such as R/Bioconductor) developed in-house. All positions are contractual. </p>

<p>Appointment will be initially given for a period of one year which is extendable depending upon performance, availability of funds and requirements of the institute. </p>

<p>Research Associate (3)</p>

<p>Position 1: Ph.D. or equivalent in statistics, computer science, mathematics, bioinformatics, or related subject. <br />Position 1: Those with experience in database management shall be preferred. Experience with UNIX or GNU/Linux operating system. <br />Position 1: Creation and maintenance of a database for population- and diseaseassociated variation resource. Development of programmatic interface for querying the database, filtering of the results and identification of genes of interest. </p>

<p>Rs. 36000/- + 10% HRA </p>

<p>Job Responsibilities:<br />Planning and execution of different NGS/genomics data analysis<br />Apply, maintain, and support cutting-edge pipelines for the analysis and interpretation of NGS data<br />Analyze large-scale genomic datasets generated internally and through collaboration with others<br />Genome wide analysis- LD analysis, hapmap, genetic map construction and qtl mapping<br />Expression analysis based on RNA-seq, gene ontology and metabolic pathway data<br />Sequence level analysis like gene family analysis, orthology/paralogy etc.<br />Familiarity with genomic and biological information databases<br />Compilation and interpretation of results and writing reports<br />Experience working independently and in a team environment<br />Requirements:</p>

<p>PhD or M.Sc with 2-3 years experience from reputed institute in the area of life science or similar Knowledge in Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) data analysis. Should be familiar with various sequencing platforms. Sound knowledge of genomics and molecular biology is must. Proficient in any one of the programming/scripting in languages: Python, Perl, PHP, R, Shell Scripting. Must be experienced in working on Linux and CLI environment. Ability to work as team as well as independently with minimal support. Fluency in spoken and written English is essential. </p>

<p>Applications are invited from suitable candidates for filling up the purely temporary positions of one Research Associate (RA) and one Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in the DBT- CPCFG Sub-Project 2B entitled “Understanding genetic and molecular basis of Ascochyta blight resistance in chickpea” under the supervision of Dr. Praveen Verma, Scientist, NIPGR. </p>

<p>Qualification: Candidates having Ph.D. degree (awarded) in any discipline of Life Sciences with good publication record are eligible to apply. Candidates having prior experience in the area of Genetic and molecular analysis of plant/fungus for disease resistance/susceptibility of transcriptome and genome analysis will be preferred.</p>

<p>Junior Research Fellow (one post): Emoluments as per DST/DBT norms &amp; as sanctioned in the project</p>

<p>Qualification: Candidates having M.Sc./M.Tech degree in any discipline of Life Sciences/Engineering (with minimum 55% marks) are eligible to apply. The Candidate having prior work experience in Molecular biology of plants/animal/fungus or Computational biology with experience in analysis of next-generation sequencing data, protein-protein interaction and system biology will be given preference.</p>

<p>The positions are purely temporary and are co-terminus with the project.
