Subject: Advertisement for the award of Junior Research Fellowship.

Applications are invited for award of one Junior Research Fellowship on a consolidated fellowship of Rs. 12,000/- pm in the project “Bioinformatics Sub-DIC ”, under the Coordinatorship Dr. Anil Kumar. The fellowship is purely temporary and may continue till the duration of the project or maximum three years which ever is earlier. The appointment shall be given on six monthly review basis.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATION

M.Sc. Bioinformatics having research experience on In silico experimentation.

Candidates possessing the above qualifications may submit their application on

JUNIOR RESEARCH FELLOW POSITION at School of Biotechnology, Gautam Buddha University Greater Noida

Walk-In Interview for one position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in a SERB, Department of Science and Technology (DST) funded research project entitled “Design and evaluation of novel Beta-3 adrenoreceptor agonists for potential antidepressant activity” under the supervision of Dr. Shakti Sahi which was scheduled on 31st March, 2014 is now re-scheduled on account of public holiday.

The interview will now be held 01st April 2014. The monthly fellowship of JRF will be Rs 12,000/- plus HRA as per the University rules.

Essential Qualification: Master degree in any discipline of Life Science with NET qualified or valid GATE score.

Desirable Qualification: Preference will be given to candidates having research experience in Bioinformatics.

The interested candidates should report for the Interview on 01st April, 2014 at 10:00 am in the Conference Room of Dean, School of Biotechnology, First floor, Gautam Buddha University, Greater Noida. Applications are invited for admission to the Ph.D. programme in the Department of Biophysics, Molecular Biology & Bioinformatics, University of Calcutta for the year 2014 from eligible candidates who would be placed under the departmental teachers or affiliated research supervisors for the pursuance of their Ph.D. programme.

Candidates are requested to download the Ph.D. admission test application form from the University website and apply in the prescribed proforma by paying Rs. 100/- through a challan available through different University Cash counters. The challan is to be duly forwarded through the Head, Department of Biophysics, Molecular Biology & Bioinformatics, University of Calcutta.

The completed application form with a copy of the paid challan is to be submitted to the office of the Department by April 16, 2014.

Syllabus for the Test: The questions for the admission test and interview will be based on topics in the following areas:

Mathematical methods, Molecular and Cellular Biophysics, Molecular and Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics, Plant Biology, Developmental biology, Neurobiology, Biotechnology and Bioinformatics.

However, the interview will be primarily based on the research emphasis of the candidate. Candidates must clearly indicate the program in which they want to apply.

Date of publication of selection list for the interview : April 22, 2014(Tuesday)

Date of Interview : April 23, 2014 (Wednesday)

Candidates with valid NET/GATE/M.Phil. or equivalent qualifications are not required to appear at the admission test but would need to qualify in the interview.
