<p>Minimum Qualifications and Experience:</p>

<p>RA: The ideal applicant should have a PhD in a relevant field. He/she should have a strong computational biology background, with demonstrated experience in coding using Perl, Python, Java or C++. He/she should be familiar with working in unix enviromnent, devising computational algorithms for data analysis, statistical data analysis in R and matlab and database programming using MySQL. Hands on experience in analyzing high throughput data would be an added advantage.</p>

<p>JRF* (DBT project): M.Sc. in Life Sciences or M.Tech in Biotechnology with good academic record (Minimum of 60% aggregate). Valid UGC-CSIR/DBT/ICMR JRF qualification and laboratory experience in molecular biology. Previous experience in molecular biology and animal tissue culture with high throughput platforms and ability to work with a large team would be desirable.</p>

<p>JRF (ACTREC project): M.Sc. in Life Sciences or M.Tech in Biotechnology with good academic record (Minimum of 60% aggregate). Minimum 2 yrs experience in molecular biology and animal tissue culture with high throughput platforms and ability to work with a large team is essential.</p>

<p>*M.Sc. degree obtained after a one year course will not be considered.</p>

<p>Average duration: 3 months (could be more in certain cases). These internships can be availed at any time during 2014 subject to consent from the faculty mentor.</p>

<p>Fellowship amount: Rs. 10,000 per month. In addition, outstation interns can receive up to Rs. 5000 per month for accommodation and Rs. 3000 for travel from and to their home place.</p>

<p>An opportunity to perform research in DST supported project that involves building of mathematical models to understand the functional relationship between circadian rhythms and memory formation under stressful condition.  In this project, mathematical model of circadian rhythms based on gene regulatory mechanisms will be unified with the mathematical model of calcium signal transduction pathway to understand and predict the formation of fear memory under stressful conditions. The research scholar will spend full time on this project to build new models and expected to contribute significantly to prepare the results for publication and presentation, and to contribute to grant proposals. </p>

<p>Required Qualifications: Masters in physics/chemistry/mathematics (or) MTech in bioengineering, chemical (or) Masters in any traditional field of science with outstanding performance throughout the program. Candidate should have cleared GATE/UGC-CSIR examinations. Applicant should have done basic mathematics courses like calculus, differential equations, numerical analysis etc in their degree program and have obtained good grades in those courses. Knowledge of MATLAB and C or at least one traditional programming language is absolutely necessary. Strong inclination to understand biological concepts is a must for this research work as this project is about modeling biological systems.     </p>

<p>Salary: A fixed salary of Rs 18000 PM including HRA will be paid. </p>

<p>Preferred Qualifications:  - Expertise in dynamical systems theory, bifurcation theory, numerical simulations, parameter estimation. </p>

The project is tenable upto 31.03.2017, but duration of the fellowship is one year only. The JRF will work with one of the faculty members of the center based on his / her motivation in any specific area on Bioinformatics.</p>

<p>Essential Qualification: 1st class M.Sc. / M.Tech degree in any stream of Chemical/ Biological Sciences with CSIR-UGC-NET-JRF / ICMR-JRF / DBT-JRF or CSIR-UGCNET- LS / GATE qualification.</p>

<p>Desirable qualification:</p>
