<p>Applications are invited for the post of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) to work on SERB, DST funded project entitled “Genome wide analysis of ascorbate oxidase multi-gene family and elucidating its role in negative regulation of stress response in rice” under the supervision of Dr. Ananda Mustafiz, Faculty of Life Sciences and Biotechnology, South Asian University.</p>

<p>Qualification: Highly motivated M.Sc. (Bioinformatics/ Biotechnology/ Life Sciences/ Botany/ Agriculture) students are encouraged to apply. Prior experience in Bioinformatics/Plant tissue culture work is preferable. Preferences would be given to DBT/ CSIR / UGC NET qualified students.</p>

<p>The Wellcome Trust/DBT India Alliance invites application for the Margdarshi Fellowship scheme. The scheme provides a unique opportunity for visionary biomedical scientists to lead and nucleate a cutting edge research program in India in collaboration with Indian Host Institution(s). The potential candidates and the Host Institution are encouraged to make a synergistic effort towards establishing a centre of excellence that aims to improve the existing scientific breadth and utilizes the experience of the lead applicant for developing new research platforms. In addition to this, under this programme two eligible Indian institutions may also come together towards creating a new program under the leadership of a visionary scientist.</p>

	<description><![CDATA[<p>BIITP is a programme of Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India, managed by Biotech Consortium India Limited (BCIL).The objective of BIITP is to provide an opportunity to bioinformatics students to acquire practical skills and experience by working on projects alongside industry experts as well as to provide an opportunity for the industry to identify potential employees.</p><p><strong>DBT Invites online applications from the bioinformatics&nbsp;students and requisitions from biotech/bioinformatics companies.</strong></p><p><strong>Biotech Industry</strong>&nbsp;:</p><p>Biotech/Bioinformatics companies interested to provide hands on industrial training to the students of Bioinformatics under BIITP may apply online. The companies would have no obligation towards any payments to trainees. The companies would be paid bench fee to cover expenses towards training. As per a notification released by DBT, Bioinformatics National Certification (BINC) Exam conducted once per year by DBT has been now merged with DBT- BET JRF Exam.</p><p>Also, Bioinformatics Industrial Training Program (BIITP) is merged with the HRD Biotechnology Industrial Training Programme (BITP).</p><p>While this comes as a surprise for a lot of participants. We believe this is a good attempt to unify and create a national benchmark for talent. And we appreciate this endeavor from Department of biotechnology.</p><p>However, such last-minute announcements can create confusion.
