Eligibility:

1st class Master’s degree in Life Sciences (Bioinformatics) from a recognized university OR.
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or-Technology with minimal 60% marks from a recognized University or equivalent.

Desirable Qualifications:
Experience in Bioinformatics/NGS data. Analysis/System Biology/Computer Science/ statistics with experience in Machine learning/Al project.
Experience of Deep learning applications in biological data ( image/text).
Proficient in Rf Python machine learning libraries.
Prior experience in the cancer-related project (ML-based) will be advantageous.
Experience with PyTorch/TensorFlow will certainly be very desirable.
Applicant should have strong scientific writing as well as. verbal abilities.
Papers in sci-indexed journals demonstrating ML skill sets.
Database handling will certainly be plus yet not required.

GRAbB: Selective Assembly of Genomic Regions, a New Niche for Genomic Research

GRAbB is shown to be more efficient than MITObim in terms of speed, memory and disk usage. The other functionalities (handling multiple targets simultaneously and extracting homologous regions) of the new program are not matched by other programs. The program is available with explanatory documentation at https://github.com/b-brankovics/grabb. GRAbB has been tested on Ubuntu (12.04 and 14.04), Fedora (23), CentOS (7.1.1503) and Mac OS X (10.7). Integration Of Speciation Research : Workshop Announcement

We are excited to share that the ESEB- funded special topic network Integration Of Speciation Research (IOS - https://speciation-network.pages.ist.ac.at/) is hosting a second in-person workshop from 7â€“11 December 2026 at the Scottish Centre for Ecology & the Natural Environment (Glasgow, UK - https://www.gla.ac.uk/research/az/scene/).

This workshop is aimed at bringing together ~40 diverse speciation researchers:

- to collaborate on populating a database of published reproductive barriers based on a standardized RIO framework (https://ecoevorxiv.org/repository/view/10083/). This will involve working through papers during the workshop to extract RI measures and other metadata and entering them into a draft database (some preparatory work before the workshop may be requested to facilitate these steps during the workshop)

- to start working towards a manuscript using this database to answer an outstanding question in speciation

- to network, learn about reproductive isolation, and have fun!

We are interested in finding an excellent postdoc with interests in protein functional annotation, machine learning and computer grids. The position is open for 3.5 years at the Université Pierre et Marie Curie, in the heart of Paris.

Research topic: Protein function annotation, multiple probabilistic models, domain architecture, machine learning, combinatorial optimization, computer grid.

This project is run on the Laboratoire de Biologie Computationnelle et Quantitative UMR7238 CNRS-UPMC – Analytical Genomics team, headed by A.Carbone. It is co-advised with Pierre-Henri Wuillemin, Laboratoire d’Informatique de Paris 6 – Equipe DECISION.

The postdoc will be payed under a contract of Ingénieur de Recherche lasting 3.5 years and it is available from September 1st, 2014.
