<p>APPLICATIONS ARE INVITED FOR THE APPOINTMENT OF ADHOC FACULTY ON CONTRACT BASIS IN THE DEAPARTMENT OF BIOTECHNOLOGY</p>

<p>Period of Contract: Initially the appointment is for one semester i.e., from July 2014 up to December 2014 only.</p>

<p>Essential Qualifications:</p>

<p>i) B. Tech or equivalent in Biotechnology/ Industrial Biotechnology/ Biochemical Engineering / Chemical Engg. Or M. Sc in Microbiology/ Botany/ Zoology/ Biochemistry/Biotechnology and ii) M. Tech or equivalent in Biotechnology/Industrial Biotechnology/Bioinformatics</p>

<p>Or</p>

<p>Integrated M. Tech in Biotechnology/Industrial Biotechnology/ Bioinformatics</p>

<p>Candidates must possess First class (60% aggregate marks or 6.5 CGPA) at B. Tech/ M. Sc and M. Tech.</p>

<p>Desirable: Ph. D Pay Package: All selected candidates shall be eligible for a consolidated pay of Rs.30, 000/- per month. Candidates with Ph. D shall be eligible for an additional amount of Rs.5, 000/- per month.</p>

	<title><![CDATA[lordFAST: sensitive and Fast Alignment Search Tool for LOng noisy Read sequencing Data]]></title>
	<description><![CDATA[<p><span>lordFAST is a sensitive tool for mapping long reads with high error rates. lordFAST is specially designed for aligning reads from PacBio sequencing technology but provides the user the ability to change alignment parameters depending on the reads and application.</span></p>
<p>lordFAST, a novel long-read mapper that is specifically designed to align reads generated by PacBio and potentially other SMS technologies to a reference. lordFAST not only has higher sensitivity than the available alternatives, it is also among the fastest and has a very low memory footprint.</p>

	<description><![CDATA[<p>Once you install XAMMP on linux, the most common problem you face is Apache failure. To fix the issues please use following command to first stop and then again start it.</p><p>sudo /etc/init.d/apache2 stop</p><p>sudo /etc/init.d/mysql stop</p><p>sudo /etc/init.d/proftpd stop</p><p>sudo /opt/lampp/lampp start</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>PhpMyAdmin &ldquo;Wrong permissions on configuration file, should not be world writable!&rdquo;</strong></p><p>Once the Xammp is installed, it might be possible to set up the configuration file in writable mode. 	<description><![CDATA[<p><span>Mulan performs multiple (2 or more) sequence alignments with an efficient and rapid "full local" alignment strategy that ensures a recapitulation of evolutionary sequence rearrangements (such as inversions and reshuffling) in any of the species. It combines&nbsp;</span><a href="http://www.bx.psu.edu/miller_lab/" target="_new"><em>refine</em>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<em>tba</em></a><span>&nbsp;tools to align either "draft" or "finished" quality sequences. Mulan provides a dynamic graphical interface to align and visualize conservation profiles for evolutionarily distant and closely related species.</span><br><span></span></p>

	<description><![CDATA[<p><span>evolverSimControl</span><span>&nbsp;(</span><span>eSC</span><span>) can be used to simulate multi-chromosome genome evolution on an arbitrary phylogeny (</span><a href="http://evolution.genetics.washington.edu/phylip/newicktree.html">Newick format</a><span>). In addition to simply running evolver,&nbsp;</span><span>eSC</span><span>&nbsp;also automatically creates statistical summaries of the simulation as it runs including text and image files.
