<p>The Wellcome Trust/DBT India Alliance invites application for the Margdarshi Fellowship scheme. The scheme provides a unique opportunity for visionary biomedical scientists to lead and nucleate a cutting edge research program in India in collaboration with Indian Host Institution(s). The potential candidates and the Host Institution are encouraged to make a synergistic effort towards establishing a centre of excellence that aims to improve the existing scientific breadth and utilizes the experience of the lead applicant for developing new research platforms. In addition to this, under this programme two eligible Indian institutions may also come together towards creating a new program under the leadership of a visionary scientist.</p>

<p>Have around 10 years of experience as independent investigator, and can be of any age or nationality<br />Have Sponsor(s) at not-for-profit Host Institution(s) in India, who is willing to extend the desired commitment and resources for program implementation<br />Provisions</p>

<p>The 5 year Fellowship provides</p>

	<description><![CDATA[<p>I personally did not understand the objective behind BINC examination. Is government only try to show off that they are doing something to promote Indian bioinformatics sector?</p><p>Moreover, It looks like BINC indirectly putting&nbsp;an extra burden to bioinformatician, mentally and financially.</p>]]></description>

	<title><![CDATA[BINC Exam merged with DBT- BET JRF Exam]]></title>
	<description><![CDATA[<p>Another breaking news received has been received from the Department of biotechnology &ndash; DBT. As per a notification released by DBT, Bioinformatics National Certification (BINC) Exam conducted once per year by DBT has been now merged with DBT- BET JRF Exam.</p><p>Also, Bioinformatics Industrial Training Program (BIITP) is merged with the HRD Biotechnology Industrial Training Programme (BITP).</p><p>While this comes as a surprise for a lot of participants. We believe this is a good attempt to unify and create a national benchmark for talent. And we appreciate this endeavor from Department of biotechnology.</p><p>However, such last-minute announcements can create confusion. Thus candidates are advised to go through the complete notification DBT-BET JRF 2019 via the link below.If you have any kind of doubts, you must contact DBT JRF or Biotecnika for any kind of help &amp; assistance.</p><p><br />Attention:-Bioinformatics Programs (BINC and BIITP)</p><p>1. <p>Research Associate Bioinformatics in IISc Recruitment 2020</p>

<p>Essential Qualifications: Ph.D. (Bioinformatics/ Biophysics/ Biotechnology or any other stream of biological/ physical sciences) with a minimum of two publications in reputed peer reviewed journals in the area of structural bioinformatics or biophysics or biomolecular modeling/ simulation.</p>

<p>Job description: Development of bioinformatics tools and algorithms/software for structure based analysis of biomolecular systems. Programmatic access to major biomolecular databases using APIs Knowledge based prediction and analysis of biomolecular structure, function and interactions. Docking/simulations for inhibitor design.</p>

<p>Desirable Qualifications (Research Associate/s): i)  Strong computer programming skills (in Python/PERL/PHP or C++ or object oriented database management systems like MySQL etc or scripting languages under LINUX/UNIX environment). </p>

<p>ii) Extensive experience in computational analysis of biomolecular structure/interactions and usage of advanced biomolecular simulation softwares. iii) Adequate knowledge of major databases, webservers and softwares in the area of biomolecular structure/function and drug design. iv)  Familiarity with Parallel Programming environments and experience in usage of high-end HPC clusters.</p>

<p>The candidates must highlight their experience in above mentioned fields/topics in their CV. Initial appointment will be for a period of 1 year, subject to extension after review of performance.</p>

<p>Emoluments: As per DST, GOI norms and commensurate with experience.</p>

<p>Essential Qualification: </p>

<p>Traineeship: Candidate having B.Tech or Master Degree or equivalent in Bioinformatics/ Biotechnology with strong interest in Computational Biology and First class/ division throughout academic career may apply. </p>

<p>Studentship: Students currently pursuing the final year of B.Tech or Masters Degree or equivalent in Bioinformatics/ Biotechnology, requiring a thesis as a necessary pre-requisite for completion of respective degree and First class/ division throughout academic career may apply.</p>

<p>Desirable Qualification: Proficiency in Coding Algorithms and Bioinformatics Applications, evidenced by short trainings or computing courses.</p>

<p>The positions are purely temporary and co-terminus with the tenure of the training period as mentioned above. NIPGR reserves the right to select the candidate against the above fellowship depending upon the qualification and experience of the candidate. Reservations shall be as per Govt. of India norms.
