<p>The Institute is working relentlessly on developing technologies for sustainable utilization of Himalayan bioresources, and in the area of tea, floriculture, bamboos and medicinal and aromatic plants. Looking at the mission of the Institute,the quantum of work undertaken and milestones achieved it was rightly conceived to rename the Institute from CSIR Complex Palampur to Institute of Himalayan Bioresource Technology at a high level meeting. Finally the Institute received its new name Institute of Himalayan Bioresource Technology (IHBT) in 1997 by then Prime Minister Shri H.D. Deve Gowda. Till date this is the only kind of National R&amp;D laboratory in the state of Himachal.</p>

	<description><![CDATA[<p>GView is a Java application for viewing and examining prokaryotic genomes in a circular or linear context. It accepts standard sequence file formats and an optional style specification file to generate customizable, publication quality genome maps in bitmap and scalable vector graphics formats. GView features an interactive pan-and-zoom interface, a command-line interface for incorporation in genome analysis pipelines, and a public Application Programming Interface for incorporation in other Java applications.</p>

<p>M.Sc. Degree in Biotechnology/ /Microbiology/Bioinformatics and 2 years research experience in the relevant field NET/GATE Qualification with at least 2 years research experience in M. tuberculosis culture and related techniques as well as transcriptome data generation and analysis.</p>

	<description><![CDATA[<p><span>With advances in Cancer Genomics,&nbsp;</span><a href="https://docs.gdc.cancer.gov/Data/File_Formats/MAF_Format/">Mutation Annotation Format</a><span>&nbsp;(MAF) is being widely accepted and used to store somatic variants detected.&nbsp;</span><a href="http://cancergenome.nih.gov/">The Cancer Genome Atlas</a><span>&nbsp;Project has sequenced over 30 different cancers with sample size of each cancer type being over 200.&nbsp;</span><a href="https://wiki.nci.nih.gov/display/TCGA/TCGA+MAF+Files">Resulting data</a><span>&nbsp;consisting of somatic variants are stored in the form of&nbsp;</span><a href="https://docs.gdc.cancer.gov/Data/File_Formats/MAF_Format/">Mutation Annotation Format</a><span>.
