	<title><![CDATA[DAGchainer: Computing Chains of Syntenic Genes in Complete Genomes]]></title>
	<description><![CDATA[<p>The DAGchainer software computes chains of syntenic genes found within complete genome sequences. As input, DAGchainer accepts a list of gene pairs with sequence homology along with their genome coordinates. Using a scoring function which accounts for the distance between neighboring genes on each DNA molecule and the BLAST E-value score between homologs, maximally scoring chains of ordered gene pairs are computed and reported. This algorithm can be used to mine large evolutionary conserved regions of genomes between two organisms. Alternatively, by examining colinear sets of homologous genes found within a single genome, segmental genome duplications can be revealed.</p>
<p>This software distribution includes both the DAGchainer utility and a Java-based graphical interface that allows the inputs and outputs to be navigated and interrogated dynamically.</p><p>Address of the bookmark: <a href="http://dagchainer.sourceforge.net/" rel="nofollow">http://dagchainer.sourceforge.net/</a></p>]]></description>

<p>Applications are invited for one position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in a Department of Biotechnology (DBT) sponsored research project entitled “Design, synthesis and evaluation of potent aminopeptidase inhibitors for malarial therapy” under the supervision of Dr. Shakti Sahi.</p>

<p>The monthly fellowship of JRF will be Rs 12,000/- plus HRA as per the University rules.</p>

<p>Essential Qualification: Master degree in any discipline of Life Science with NET qualified.</p>

<p>Desirable Qualification: Preference will be given to candidates having research experience in in silico drug designing/Bioinformatics.</p>

  <title><![CDATA[Nedelec Lab]]></title>

<p>Location :European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL), Heidelberg, Germany.</p>

<p>Our long-term research objective is to understand microtubule organization in living cells, with an emphasis on mitosis. We develop in-vitro assays, quantitative image analysis and cytosim, a computer simulation to study cellular architecture from a mechanistic angle, modeling the interactions of microtubules and related proteins such as molecular motors. In the past, we combined simulations and experiments to study microtubule self-organization, and the mechanical stability of two interacting asters. More recently, we looked at the focusing of mitotic fibers, the formation of antiparallel arrays of microtubules in fission yeast and the spindle positionning in C. elegans.<br />We are supported by BioMS, an initiative in Systems Biology, and involved in Cell networks.</p>

	<title><![CDATA[List of GOI approved peer reviewed bioinformatics and computational biology journals]]></title>
	<description><![CDATA[<p>Unfortunately, we now live in a world where the integrity of peer-reviewed journals is being threatened by the rise of the academic version of fake news &ndash; something many call &ldquo;predatory publishing". &nbsp;Mostly in academic publishing world, "predatory open access publishing" is an exploitative open-access publishing business model that involves charging publication fees to authors without providing the editorial and publishing services associated with legitimate journals (open access or not).</p><p>Nearly 20% of the such journals have a flashy impact factor and quick publication time, which are quick give-aways. Interestingly, under contact address, some journal websites do not even provide any address to contact. All of this has led to the emergence of a new and dark market of deceptive publishers that exploit the concept of open access and provide channels for &ldquo;scientific journal&rdquo; publication with little or no peer review. For a fee, they will publish almost anything &ndash; even if the study was fatally flawed.
