1. Research Associate (RA)
Qualification: Ph.D. degree (awarded) in Molecular Biology/Biotechnolgy/Biochemistry/Plant Science/ Life Sciences/Bioinformatics or related field with 03 years post-doctoral research experience or 02 research papers in the journals of International repute are eligible to apply. Experience in the area of functional genomics, proteomics, metabolomics, multiomics and system biology will be preferred.

2. Junior Research Fellow (JRF)
Qualification: M.Sc. degree or equivalent in Biotechnolgy/Biochemistry/Plant Science or Botany/ Life Sciences/Bioinformatics/ Molecular Biology or any other related field. Experience in advanced multiomics, big data analysis, molecular and system biology techniques will be given preference.
Age Limit: As Per Rules
3. Laboratory Assistant
Qualification: B.Sc. degree with 05 years working experience in government R&D Laboratory assisting in the field of molecular biology and genomis.
Pay Scale: Rs.15000/- Per Month

Pondicherry University,Puducherry,on behalf of Department of Biotechnology, Government of India, conducted the BINC examination in 2015 and 2016. The objective of this examination is to certify bioinformatics professionals, trained formally as well as self-trained.Registration for BINC 2017 examination will open from January 29,2017 to February 28,2017.

Pondicherry University, Puducherry has been identified as a nodal agency by the Department of Biotechnology, Govt. of India to coordinate this examination along with nine centres namely,

Pune University, Pune;

Anna University, Chennai;

Bose Institute, Kolkata;

Institute of Bioinformatics & Applied Biotechnology, Bangalore;

North-Eastern Hill University, Shillong, University of Hyderabad, Hyderabad;

University of Kerala, Thiruvananthapuram;

Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi and

Assam Agricultural University, Guwahati.

In the BINC 2015 and 2016 examination, 23 candidates and five candidates were certified respectively. DBT has agreed to fund Research fellowships for all the BINC qualified Indian nationals to pursue Ph.D. in Indian Institutes/Universities.

Note that the candidate must possess a postgraduate degree(or equivalent) & meet the criteria of the institutes/universities in order to avail research fellowship.

In addition, cash prize of Rs. 10,000/- will be awarded to the top 10 BINC qualifiers.

Bioinformatics JRF at IISER MOHALI

Applications are invited for a Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in Innovative Young Biotechnologist Award (IYBA) research project funded by Department of Biotechnology (DBT).

The project involves identification and characterization of transcription factors (TFs) from the Arabidopsis shoot apical meristem stem cell niche using genomic approaches and construction of a gene regulatory network for the identified TFs.

Positions: 1

Duration: 1 year but extendable up to three years based on performance and availability of funds.

Emoluments: As per DST rules.

Essential Qualifications: M.Sc. in any branch of life sciences with excellent academic record with CSIR-UGC NET or DBT-JRF. Candidate having previous work experience in the area of bioinformatics, molecular biology and genetics is preferred, but not required.
