<p>Applications are invited for the following temporary research positions to work in ongoing DBTBBSRC sponsored research project entitled “Transcriptome Analysis in Indian buffalo and the Genetics of Innate Immunity” at the National Institute of Animal Biotechnology, Hyderabad.</p>

<p>(A) Project Scientist – Level B (One Position)</p>

<p>Emoluments: Rs. 15600 + GP Rs. 5400 + 30 % HRA p.m. (Total emoluments will be Rs. 49,770/-p.m. for the duration of the project)</p>

<p>Essential Qualification: Candidates having M.V.Sc. in Veterinary Microbiology / Veterinary Pathology / Veterinary Public Health / Ph.D. degree in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology or any other related field from the recognized university are eligible to apply.</p>

<p>The candidate should have a good academic record and research experience as evidenced from published in standard referred journals / patents.</p>

<p>Desirable: Candidates having research experience in the area of tissue culture, genomics, Transcriptomics and Advanced Molecular Biology will be given preference.</p>

<p>Age Limit: Not exceeding 30 years as on last date of the submission of the application.</p>

<p>(B) Research Associate in Bioinformatics (One position)</p>

<p>Fellowship: Rs. 22,000 + 30 % HRA</p>

<p>Essential Qualification: Candidates having Ph.D. degree or M.Tech. with three years of<br />experience in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Biotechnology, Life Sciences or any other related field are eligible to apply.</p>

<p>Desirable: Candidate having research experience in the area of next generation sequencing (NGS) data analysis, Genome wide association studies, Genomic selection, advance genomic data analysis etc., will be given preference. The candidate should have a good academic record and research experience as evidenced from published papers in standard journals / patents.</p>

<p>Age Limit: Not exceeding 30 years as on last date of the submission of the application.</p>

<p>Project Duration: The duration of the project is Three years and the positions are co- terminus with the duration of the project. (Initial appointment will be for one year and further extension will be granted based on annual review).</p>

<p>Scientist E-II or F in Bioinformatics &amp; Computational Biology</p>

<p>SCIENTIST E-II OR F IN COMPUTATIONAL BIOLOGY &amp; BIOINFORMATICS</p>

<p>Highly motivated and innovative individual who will pursue basic research, solve biological problems with emphasis on computational and quantitative experimental methods and build active bridges to translational research. The scientist will also provide computational biology support to ongoing research programs in disease biology, provide assistance to analyze complex data sets generated by RGCB scientists and collaborators inclusive of including high dimensional “omics” data and next generation sequencing data, such as whole genome, exome, RNA-seq and ChIP-seq as well as provide leadership for high quality training for junior scientists and regular teaching programs of the institute. Areas of research of interest to RGCB include but are not limited to computational, systems, or quantitative biology with applications to cell biology, developmental biology, metabolism, genomics, proteomics, biophysics, biological information systems, network pharmacology, drug design and cancer research. The scientist’s responsibilities include efforts for the integration of DNA variant annotation with statistical genetic analysis methods including linkage, imputation and association methods, adopting novel and innovative methodologies to analyze, integrate and interpret high dimensional data sets, provision of annotation to robust genetics and genomics findings using several data sources and methods, data management of exploratory clinical and R&amp;D studies in partnership with other lines of genetic data generated from internal and external studies, delivery and documentation of genomic information to support genetic studies, ensuring high-quality genetic and genomic data is incorporated into exploratory- clinical research programs, developing tools that make maximum use of multiple data sources to support annotation of DNA variation and contributes to systems biology initiatives within RGCB </p>

<p>Job Responsibilities:<br />Planning and execution of different NGS/genomics data analysis<br />Apply, maintain, and support cutting-edge pipelines for the analysis and interpretation of NGS data<br />Analyze large-scale genomic datasets generated internally and through collaboration with others<br />Genome wide analysis- LD analysis, hapmap, genetic map construction and qtl mapping<br />Expression analysis based on RNA-seq, gene ontology and metabolic pathway data<br />Sequence level analysis like gene family analysis, orthology/paralogy etc.<br />Familiarity with genomic and biological information databases<br />Compilation and interpretation of results and writing reports<br />Experience working independently and in a team environment<br />Requirements:</p>

Proficient in any one of the programming/scripting in languages: Python, Perl, PHP, R, Shell Scripting. Must be experienced in working on Linux and CLI environment. Ability to work as team as well as independently with minimal support. Fluency in spoken and written English is essential. </p>
