KOALA (KEGG Orthology And Links Annotation) is KEGG's internal annotation tool for K number assignment of KEGG GENES using SSEARCH computation. BlastKOALA and GhostKOALA assign K numbers to the user's sequence data by BLAST and GHOSTX searches, respectively, against a nonredundant set of KEGG GENES. Annotate Sequence in KEGG Mapper and Pathogen Checker in KEGG Pathogen are special interfaces to the BlastKOALA server and can be executed in an interactive mode. See Step-by-step Instructions.

We have developed the Sequence Ontology Bioinformatics Analysis (SOBA) tool to provide a simple statistical and graphical summary of an annotated genome. We envisage its use during annotation jamborees, genome comparison and for use by developers for rapid feedback during annotation software development and testing. SOBA also provides annotation consistency feedback to ensure correct use of terminology within annotations, and guides users to add new terms to the Sequence Ontology when required. SOBA is available at http://www.sequenceontology.org/cgi-bin/soba.cgi.

The vsFilt is the first open application for post-docking structural filtration, available as a web-server. The new tool is easy to use and configure to detect a wide range of interaction types that are known to be involved in molecular recognition, including hydrogen and halogen bonds, ionic interactions, hydrophobic contacts, π-stacking, and cation-π interactions. The web-server can process large libraries of up to 150’000 docked ligand poses. The results are web-based and can be operated on-line using the built-in HTML5 interactive analysis tools, or can be downloaded for a local use. The vsFilt is freely available on-line, no login required.

Address of the bookmark: https://biokinet.belozersky.msu.ru/vsfilt

Helitron-like elements (HLE1 and HLE2) are DNA transposons. They have been found in diverse species and seem to play significant roles in the evolution of host genomes. Although known for over twenty years, Helitron sequences are still challenging to identify. Here, we propose HELIANO (Helitron-like elements annotator) as an efficient solution for detecting Helitron-like elements.
