<p>The School of Biotechnology offers a curriculum that reflects the multidisciplinary nature of Biotechnology, integrating theoretical and applied science in undergraduate and graduate courses. The school has six departments with about 300 employees, located at AlbaNova University Center in Stockholm and Science for Life Laboratory in Solna. The Biotechnology research within the school is internationally well recognized.</p>

<p>We are now seeking a postdoc scholarship holder with strong background in transcriptomics to use this large collection of data for integrative studies. Focus will be on advanced bioinformatics and statistical analysis of data from high-throughput sequencing including integration with the other platforms.</p>

<p>The scholarship holder must have a PhD with an outstanding research and publication record and will be selected based on her/his excellence and her/his skills. A PhD should have been awarded less than five years before the deadline of the application. The scholarship holder must have a strong background in bioinformatics, computer science, computational biology or equivalent with a profound knowledge about biology and biostatistics.</p>

<p>A position for a Postdoctoral fellow is available in the area of bioinformatics and genomics. The Institute for Stem Cell Biology and Regenerative Medicine (inStem) is a highly collaborative environment and we are seeking an individual who can interface with both wet and dry lab scientists to use profiling technologies to advance our understanding of tissue regeneration and repair. Consequently, the selected candidate for this position can expect world-class training in integrating the fields of cell biology, molecular biology, animal models, and genomics/proteomics.</p>

<p>We are seeking an individual with expertise in analyzing next generation sequencing data, mutation calling in exome seq data, network inference, data integration, and modeling. Competitive candidates would also have programming experience in scripting languages with perl, C, C++, and R programming. This position requires a PhD in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Biostatistics or related fields, and evidence of scientific productivity through publications in international journals.   <title><![CDATA[Postdoc in Genomics of Pipefishes and Seahorses at NSF-funded postdoctoral project in Adam Jones' Lab]]></title>

<p>An NSF-funded postdoctoral position is available in Adam Jones' Lab<br />at the University of Idaho to study the evolution and development of<br />the male's brood pouch in syngnathid fishes (seahorses, pipefishes<br />and seadragons). The project is being conducted in collaboration<br />with Dr. William Cresko's group at the University of Oregon. The<br />postdoc will be involved in studies of comparative genomics across<br />the family Syngnathidae, investigations of brood pouch morphology, and<br />characterization of the brood pouch microbiome. The position will be<br />funded for two years, with the possibility of a third year. The postdoc<br />will be based at the University of Idaho and will interact extensively<br />with the Cresko Lab at the University of Oregon.</p>

<p>The University of Idaho is in Moscow, a small college town located in<br />Northern Idaho on the Washington border. Moscow is widely considered to<br />be a great place to live, and it's known for a pleasant downtown, active<br />farmer's market, and nearby recreational opportunities. <p>The University of Idaho has very strong faculty in evolution and<br />genomics in multiple departments and interdisciplinary programs. In addition, the University of<br />Idaho is only eight miles from Washington State University in Pullman, and<br />faculty from the two institutions interact and collaborate extensively.</p>

<p>Minimum qualifications include: a Ph.D. in biological sciences,<br />bioinformatics, or a related discipline; experience conducting research<br />in genomics or evolutionary biology, as evidenced by publications<br />in peer-reviewed journals; and evidence of strong written and oral<br />communication skills.  Experience analyzing next-generation sequence<br />data and familiarity with the genomics of marine fishes are desirable<br />but not required.</p>

<p>Postdoctoral positions are available at the Faryabi Lab located in the Department of Pathology and the Center for Personalized Diagnostics at the University of Pennsylvania.</p>

<p>A qualified candidate will be strongly motivated individual with following qualifications: a Ph.D. in computational sciences, engineering, physics, bioinformatics, or related field. Ability to program in Python/Perl and R in Unix environment, knowledge of C++, Java, and SQL is a plus. Demonstrated applied bioinformatics/computational proficiency as evidenced by relevant publications in peer-reviewed journals. Experience with cancer genomics is a plus.</p>

<p>The primary research focus of the Faryabi Lab is on developing novel computational methods to study mechanisms involved in genome instability and elucidate their roles in tumorigenesis. <p>The goal of the project is investigating the regulation and functional role of non coding RNAs in tissue response to hypoxia and ischemia.</p>

<p>We are looking for a candidate that is going to interact with biologists and bioinformaticians to manage and analyze NGS data (mostly RNA-seq) and microarray data.</p>

<p>The successful candidate must have a minimum of 3 years experience in dealing with NGS data, a good command of English and written communication and at least 2 relevant publications as first author in peer reviewed international journals. The candidate is expected to interact with a small international group and to be able also to work independently. Knowledge of programming is a definitive plus, as well as a good statistical background and/or wet molecular biology skills.</p>

<p>Salary is proportional to experience and to the publication record (up to 38 000euro/year before taxes and retirement contribution i.e. IRPEF and INPS).</p>

<p>These fellowships are designed for Indian faculty and researchers who are in the early stages of their research careers in India. Fulbright-Kalam Climate Fellowships will provide opportunities to talented faculty and researchers to strengthen their research capacities. Postdoctoral fellows will have access to some of the finest resources in their areas of interest and will help build long-term collaborative relationships with U.S. faculty and institutions. These fellowships are for eight to 24 months.</p>

<p>These fellowships provide J-1 visa support, a monthly stipend, Accident and Sickness Program for Exchanges per U.S. Government guidelines, round-trip economy class air travel between India and the U.S., a modest settling-in allowance, and a professional allowance.</p>

<p>Subject to availability of funds, a dependent allowance and international travel may be provided for one accompanying eligible dependent provided the dependent is with the grantee in the U.S. for at least 80 per cent of the grant period. Flex grantees are not eligible for dependent benefits.</p>

<p>Eligibility Requirements</p>

<p>In addition to the General Prerequisites:</p>

<p>Applicants must have a Ph.D. degree within the past four years. S/he must have obtained a Ph.D. degree between September 15, 2018 and September 14, 2022. The applicants are required to upload his/her Ph.D. degree certificate/provisional Ph.D. certificate on the online application;<br />Applicants must have a publication in reputed journals and demonstrate evidence of superior academic and professional achievement. S/he must upload a recent significant publication (copy of paper/article) on the online application (not exceeding 30 pages); and<br />If applicant is employed, please follow the instructions carefully regarding employer’s endorsement. If applicable, obtain the endorsement from the appropriate administrative authority on the Letter of Support from Home Institution. The employer must indicate that leave will be granted for the fellowship period. The applicant can download the Letter of Support from Home Institution from the USIEF website. Candidates working under government-funded projects are also required to get endorsement from their affiliating institutions in India.</p>
