	<title><![CDATA[RATT]]></title>
	<description><![CDATA[<p><strong>RATT</strong> is software to transfer annotation from a reference (annotated) genome to an unannotated query genome.</p>
<p>It was first developed to transfer annotations between different genome assembly versions. However, it can also transfer annotations between strains and even different species, like <em>Plasmodium chabaudi</em> onto <em> P. berghei</em>, between different Leishmania species or <em>Salmonella enterica</em> onto other Salmonella serotypes. <strong>RATT</strong> is able to transfer any entries present on a reference sequence, such as the systematic id or an annotator's notes; such information would be lost in a <em>de novo</em> annotation.</p>

  <title><![CDATA[Computational Biology Summer Research Programme]]></title>
  <description><![CDATA[
<p>IMSc has a limited programme for highly motivated bachelors and masters students interested in research in the areas of Theoretical Physics, Mathematics, Theoretical Computer Science and Computational Biology to visit the Institute over their summer vacation. In addition, IMSc also accepts students through the summer program organized by the joint Indian Academies of Science.<br />General Structure<br />This is a limited programme, depending on the availability of infrastructure and faculty advisors. We typically select about 25 students across disciplines although this number varies a bit from year to year. These visits typically span 6-8 weeks during the summer (May-July). There is also a provision for a 4-6 month visit, typically during January-April or August-November for extended project work.</p>

<p>Qualifications<br />Students currently in their pre-final or final year of BSc/BE/BTech or first year MSc/ME/MTech or equivalent with a good academic record are encouraged to apply through IMSc's formal application process.</p>

<p>To apply through the summer program jointly organized by the Academies of Science, please check the Indian Academy of Sciences for their application process: http://web-japps.ias.ac.in:8080/fellowship2018/index.html.<br />Stipend<br />Selected students will be paid 2nd class round trip train fare plus Rs.200 per diem. Accommodation will be provided in the hostel during summer, subject to availability. Since our ability to provide accomodation is often limited, we suggest that students also explore alternative possibilities for stay in Chennai. Accommodation will not be provided for longer visits.</p>

  <title><![CDATA[Postdoctoral Fellow in Genomics and Comparative Genomics]]></title>

<p>Environnement de travail (Work environment):<br />The successful candidate will join a dynamic research group working<br />on the ecology and evolution of host'parasite'environment<br />interactions in non-model organisms, particularly snail vectors and<br />its trematode parasites. She/He will conduct genomic analyses aimed at<br />understanding host'parasite coevolution and the genetic architecture<br />of resistance in the invasive snail Pseudosuccinea columella to the<br />zoonotic parasite Fasciola hepatica. This thematic line is embedded<br />within the regional scientific project InvaSnail financed by the<br />ExposUM initiative from the Montpellier. The position is based in<br />Montpellier, a vibrant scientific hub in Southern France internationally<br />recognized for excellence in ecology and evolutionary biology. The IHPE<br />laboratory provides a collaborative research environment with access<br />to high-performance computing facilities, sequencing platforms, and<br />strong interdisciplinary interactions across research institutions in<br />the Montpellier area. University</p>

<p>Main mission:</p>

<p>Develop and implement strategies for whole-genome sequencing of non-model<br />species<br />Generate high-quality de novo genome assemblies using short- and long-read<br />sequencing technologies<br />Perform genome annotation and structural/functional characterization<br />Conduct comparative genomic analyses across related species or populations<br />Design and implement genome-wide association studies (GWAS) to identify<br />loci associated with phenotypic or adaptive traits<br />Integrate genomic, phenotypic, and environmental datasets<br />Contribute to the development of reproducible bioinformatics pipelines</p>
