BioScope : A biological web browser
BioScope is a customized web browser tool to accomplish the need of biological researchers.It combines both the general browser feature and biological research facilities that we lack in other available browsers. This web browser provides the direct access to the biological resources and permits us to easily handle biological problems. Pattern searching, quick database connectivity, sequence downloader and real time connectivity to the almost all biological server make BioScope a unique web browser cum tool for researchers.
BioScope is a software application for retrieving, presenting, and traversing information resources on the World Wide Web. The primary purpose of this customized web browser is to bring general information as well as biological research resources to the user.
In an era of internet and information technology, it is important to exploit these supports in biological science where due to immense work in genomics and proteomics data generated in large amount which need to access anytime with ease. In that direction, BioScope is an innovative and integrated web browser which not only accommodate the power of advanced web browser but also a good biological integrated package which provide direct access to biological information available on the net and tool for editing and formatting biological information. Normally popular web browsers are general and meant for common user but BioScope covers specific users which belong to biology so that scientist working in biology does not need to recall the important links and resources as all available in biosurf where they just need to click those links available in options. They also retrieve directly biological sequences from particular website and perform editing on it. While searching particular information related to biology, they just write suffix portion of it on search text box and automatically bio as prefix will be annex to suffix.
A significant feature of BioScope is the ability to view pattern in current active windows. BioScope allow the user to open multiple information resources at the same time, either in different browser windows or in different tabs of the same window.
